Out Astoria has an exciting summer shaping up! Please join us the Queens Pride kickoff party plus AIDS Walk NY, mixers, dinners, book club and running club.

Friday May 18  -  OA Mixer at Cafe Bar, 8 pm onwards. 34th Ave and 36th St. Well drinks $4, 8 to 9pm, $5 afterwards; free shot for OA members; beer and sangria specials.

Sunday May 20  -  AIDS Walk NY, 10 am. Central Park

Tuesday May 29  -  OA Book Club, 7:30 – 9 pm. “The Filter Bubble: How the new personalized web is changing what we read and how we think”, by Eli Pariser.

Out Astoria AIDS Walk Fundraiser and Bar Mixer, 4/28

Hey everybody,

Out Astoria is having our annual AIDS Walk fundraiser as a mixer at Hellgate Social this year. Drinks will be 2-for-1 from 9PM to 10PM, and every $10+ donor gets a free shot.

This event is pretty important to us, so please feel free to bring a friend or two to help raise money for an important cause. We’d love to see you there.

A quick summary of the evening and of the raffle prizes:

Event – Begins at 9PM
$10 suggested donation gets guests one free shot
2 for 1 drink from 9PM – 10PM

Raffle Prizes
The Raffle will take place at 10:30PM.  Winner must be present to claim their prize.
Raffle tickets will be sold at:
 1 ticket for $2
 3 tickets for $5
 Length of your arm for $15!

Out Astoria Mixer at William Hallet, 3/23

Please note that this event begins at 10, rather than at 8 as our mixers usually do.

It’s spring! Come celebrate at William Hallet with the rest of Out Astoria. There’ll be $4 beers and $4 mixed well drinks from 10 to 11.

Interesting factoid: Astoria was originally named Hallet’s Cove after William Hallet.

New Location for February Mixer!

Hi everyone!

It’s been a crazy month for us Astorians but I just wanted to take a moment to let you all know that we’re still on for our February Mixer!

FRI – FEB 24 - OUT ASTORIA FEBRUARY MIXER AT VERONICA’S BAR - 8PM TO LATE – FREE!

Things are changing in Astoria, and in recognition of that, Out Astoria is holding this month’s mixer somewhere we haven’t been before!  Some of you might remember Veronica’s as the place we’d go across the street from the old Lavish Lounge – sometimes it was to chat with the bartendress or just have a quiet sip of whiskey with someone you wanted to chat with b/c the music at Lavish was too loud for you to hear each other…regardless – some of you remember Veronica’s Bar…and this month (for the first time ever) we get to make their venue “official” with their first Out Astoria Mixer!

Because it’s a new spot for a lot of you, there’s no cover for anyone (members or non-members)…everyone is welcome!  Bring your friends, gaybors, subway crushes and take advantage of the great all-night drink specials:

$4 for a PBR and a well shot

$4 for mixed well drinks

And although this mixer is free, don’t forget to renew your annual Out Astoria Membership if it’s close to expiring!  Just click here and fill out the simple form to renew.  Membership questions, especially if you need to know when your membership is up for renewal, can be directed to our Membership Director, Jason.

Out Astoria January Mixer at Hell Gate Social!

So in honor of everyone being able to meet the new 2012 officers of Out Astoria, this mixer is for EVERYONE! Members, non-members, prospective members, strangers, and friends you just haven’t met yet!There is NO cover for this mixer at Hell Gate Social, but we’ve arranged an extended happy hour from 8pm to 10pm that includes 2-4-1 drinks (beer, wine, well-drinks) for all attendees.

We’ll also have membership applications, so if you have a friend who’s been thinking about moving to Astoria, or someone who is considering becoming one of our new Affiliate Members, we’ll have someone on hand to answer all your questions.

And don’t forget, you don’t have to wait until the Mixer to renew your old membership, just head on over to:
